On Sunday afternoon, an argument led to a shooting at a rock climbing gym in Soulsville that left two men dead.
Police were called to the shooting inside Memphis Rox, a nonprofit rock climbing organization.
One victim was rushed to the hospital, and subsequently passed away from their wounds, while another man was declared dead at the scene.
Late on Sunday night, Memphis Rox issued a statement regarding the incident, acknowledging the death of “one of their most beloved Memphis Rox team members.” In order to “process our grief,” the organization said it will be closed on Monday.
Preliminary evidence indicates that the individuals involved were acquainted, and that one person has been arrested.
