According to reports, Memphis International Airport is thinking about changing its name to honor Fred Smith, the founder of FedEx.
Frederick W. Smith passed away on Saturday after staking his whole fortune on a vision to transform freight transportation. He was eighty years old.
Memphis International Airport said on Sunday that the board is anticipated to present a resolution that may enable staff to consider renaming the airport in Smith’s honor.
The board will meet again on Thursday, June 26.
