Following a “unspecified threat,” all local YMCA locations and events were placed under lockdown on Friday morning.
Around 10 a.m., officers responded to five YMCA sites but they discovered nothing suspicious.
The locations were 5885 Quince Rd. in East Memphis, 245 Madison Ave. Downtown, 4727 Elvis Presley Blvd. in Whitehaven, 1350 Concourse Ave. in Crosstown, and 7950 Club Center Drive in Cordova.
In a statement they said, “The location was not identified, so out of an abundance of caution, and in accordance with our safety protocols, we are implementing these measures across the entire organization. Everyone at our locations is safe, and we are actively working with all local law enforcement agencies.”
