LOCAL | Meharry Medical College Will Open Medical Training Center In Midtown

A medical college unveiled some of the plans for the Midtown property at a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church.

In order to increase the school’s influence in Tennessee, the church unveiled a $310 million renovation plan in its Office of Memphis Programs in collaboration with Nashville HBCU Meharry Medical College, which was established in 1876.

According to Meharry Medical College, their collaboration with the church will help them fulfill their goal of helping underprivileged communities.

The clinical training office will serve both present and prospective students and be a component of the 23-acre campus.

Medical offices, exercise centers, and other facilities with a health focus will be part of the initiative, according to Pastor J. Lawrence Turner.
