Memphis Police have confirmed the arrest of two men in conjunction with the shooting and attempted car jacking on Mud Island.
Christopher Skelton and Justin Furnish are now facing multiple charges. Skelton and Furnish were seen cutting off a driver of a Ford F150 on Island Place East and Island Village Drive and shooting him. Witnesses say the victim caught the attention of witnesses when he hit a mailbox. The witness discovered he had been shot and kept him awake and alert until first responders made the scene. The victim was rushed to Regional One in critical condition.
The red Chevrolet Silverado was reported stolen earlier in the day and was later spotted off Holmes Road. Desoto County investigators have also assisted MPD in this case.
