LOCAL | Dates Set For Federal Sentencing Of Five Ex-MPD Officers In Tyre Nichols Case

In two weeks, the former Memphis Police  officers who were found guilty federally of Tyre Nichols’ murder will be sentenced.

On June 16, Tadarrius Bean and Justin Smith will get their sentences; on June 17, Demetrius Haley and Desmond Mills Jr. will receive their sentences.

During the federal trial, Mills and Martin accepted plea agreements.

Martin and Haley, the two former officers who are facing most severe sentences, are still being held in federal custody. While they await their sentencing, the other former police officers are free on bond.

The next day, MPD dissolved the Scorpion Unit of which the officers were among its members.
