According to a news release issued by the City of Memphis on Friday, John Zeanah, the former head of planning for the city and county, has been named head of development and infrastructure for the city of Memphis.
Public Works, Housing and Community Development, Engineering, and Planning are the four city departments that the new role will oversee, the news release stated.
In the past, he and other division directors answered directly to Antonio Adams, the city’s chief operations officer.
Zeanah will now be in charge of four departments that are essential to the process of economic development. Adams will continue to oversee the city’s 311 departments, parks, libraries, animal services, general services, and solid trash.
