LOCAL | Infiniti Sports Bar In Frayser Shuts Down After Being Deemed A Public Nuisance

Until further notice, a bar in Frayser that was the site of a mass shooting last week that left two people dead and three injured is being shut down as a public nuisance.

The announcement was made Wednesday at the Infiniti Sports Bar & Grill, located on North Watkins Street, by law enforcement and representatives of the city government.

The club is a “persistent hotspot for criminal activity,” according to Police Chief C.J. Davis.

Davis also noted that the MPD has responded to 93 service requests at the club, including those involving armed parties, shootings, and killings.

State Representative Antonio Parkinson, who recently approved legislation to speed up nuisance closures, was thanked by both Young and Davis. In July, that law will take effect.

A suspect in the recent mass shooting is still being hunted by police.
