LOCAL | Mississippi Man Charged With 8 Counts Of Attempted First-Degree Murder Over Shooting On The Highland Strip

Two weeks ago, a man from Mississippi shot multiple rounds into an SUV occupied by several people on the Highland Strip. He was charged with eight counts of attempted first-degree murder over the weekend.

Klaybon Kobeck, a 20-year-old from Hernando, Mississippi, was arrested on Sunday and taken to the Shelby County jail.

The shooting occurred in the early morning hours of February 9, and it stemmed from â€śa brief physical confrontation” outside of Rooster’s.

A man and his friends loaded into a Honda Pilot to leave the bar and that’s when Kobeck fired his weapon multiple times into the SUV as it drove away, striking twice the woman with whom he had a confrontation.

The woman sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.

Kobeck is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
