Derrick Rose, a fifteen-year NBA star, announced his retirement Thursday morning.
The 35-year-old played for the University of Memphis before the Chicago Bulls selected him in the 2008 NBA draft. He received honors for Rookie of the Year and then won Most Valuable Player in 2011.
The youngest MVP in NBA history, Rose spent seven seasons as a player with the Bulls before being moved for four seasons to the New York Knicks.
After that, he spent two seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves and one season with the Detroit Pistons. Rose finished his 16-year basketball career with the Grizzlies, the same city where he played college ball.
