TIGERS | AAC Freshman Of The Year PJ Haggerty Commits To Memphis Through Transfer Portal

PJ Haggerty, former guard for the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, committed on Thursday to play for Coach Penny Hardaway and the Memphis Tigers next season.

Haggerty is regarded as one of the top players in the transfer portal, coming off a redshirt freshman season averaging over 21 points, 5.5 rebounds and nearly 4 assists.

He was also just voted Freshman of the Year for the American Athletic Conference, helping lead his team to a 16-15 record. Standing at 6-foot-3, Haggerty was also deciding between Kansas State, Providence and Texas.

This comes after the reports of three current Tigers players entering the portal. Freshman guard Carl Cherenfant has joined Jayhlon Young and Jonathan Pierre, ensuring that Coach Hardaway has another off-season of rebuilding his roster through the portal.
