TIGER BASKETBALL | Tigers Bounce Back At Home With Blowout Against Charlotte

The Memphis Tigers have bounced back from their two game slide in the impressive 76-52 win at home against the Charlotte 49ers.

Leading the team in scoring with 17 points was Jahvon Quinerly, followed by a 16 point game by Nae’Qwan Tomlin who was in the starting lineup.

One notable player who didn’t have his usual contribution due to injury was David Jones, who had to leave the game in the second half after getting poked in the eye. His availability to play FAU this Sunday is still questionable.

The Tigers have now bumped back up the standings with a 19-8 overall record and 8-6 in the American Athletic Conference.

Head coach Penny Hardaway said getting this win in front of the home fans gave him great relief and validation of what this team can do.

“The release I got was that we’re capable of being this team on a nightly basis,” he said after the game. “With this team at home and on the road, we’ll be tough to beat. That’s all I need from them is the effort and the energy.”
