A Millington hair stylist and her boyfriend are facing charges for False Imprisonment and Assault after an altercation with their customer.
This all happened in the apartment of the stylist, not an actual store. Police say the victim went there to get her hair braided and a dispute arose when they began to argue over payment of services.
The altercation became physical and even escalated to the point where the victim was blocked from the door, unable to escape.
Jake Cook, radio host of the Nation of Jake, talked about the incident on his afternoon show and said he understands the root of the dispute but that there are other ways to handle it.
“In a situation like this, it’s a tough one. You did the work, what are you supposed to do if they don’t pay you?” He said. “It’s kind of like being a contractor. If you build somebody a deck or a porch and they don’t pay you, you can’t go to their house and start demolishing. But there still has to be some sort of recourse.”
